Hi! I'm a psychotherapist that provides trauma-informed, culturally affirmative care specializing in depression, trauma and LGBTQAI+ issues.
As an attuned and empathic therapist, I offer a inviting environment infused with curiosity, creativity, and at times, even humor. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I bring specialized expertise to support individuals navigating through challenging experiences.
Beyond my therapeutic practice, I share my knowledge and passion as an Adjunct Professor at NYU Steinhardt, supporting the next generation of mental health professionals. I also dedicate myself to furthering my own understanding and skills through training at the Psychoanalytic Institute of New York (PANY).
Outside of treatment, I love spending my time with my miniature schnauzer, Seymour, exploring botanic gardens, and getting my hands on some iced coffee.
My approach
You might be feeling low, feeling lonely, sad, exhausted and life is pointless. You might be feeling overwhelmed, feeling like everything is anxious, confusing, frustrating, and out of control. You might even feel a combination, where life is chaotic, disorganized and on-edge. My work specializes in helping people understand and work through what's showing up to move towards a more peaceful life.
I use an integrative lens, primarily using Psychodynamic psychotherapy. From there, I draw from the evidence based treatments I'm trained in to meet your unique needs and experience and to create a truly individualized treatment.
Picture it like time travel: we'll delve into where you've been and what you've experienced, examine where you are now, and chart a course for where you want to go. Through this journey, we'll explore your history and patterns of suffering while also laying the groundwork for a brighter future.
Central to my approach is the belief that the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is a powerful catalyst for healing. With compassion, energy, and curiosity, I'm committed to meeting you where you are, providing a supportive space for honest emotional expression, creating a deeper understanding of your journey, and ensuring you feel truly seen and valued.
I recognize that each individual has their own perceptions of their needs and worldview, I prioritize exploring identity, culture, and environment. This creates a space not only for processing personal struggles but also for addressing external oppressions that impact your well-being. Together, we collaboratively shape a therapeutic journey that is as unique as you are
